Glory Reel

Played with Heathery Cruach on Island Angel…

I learned this tune from the same source given here. I’m pretty sure Altan is playing a D sharp in the first bar of the B part, a la:

|gagf e^def|

Both the Glory Reel and Heathery Cruach are predominantly northern tunes, so we play ‘em with mostly short, punchy single bow strokes.

Will, I agree with you about the D#, although I think you probably meant to say the C part.

Doh! Yep, that d sharp goes in the C part, sorry. Sum day I’m gonna lurn to cownt passed two…. :-)

Glory Reel

There doesn’t seem to be any D notes in the Cpart - don’t you mean C#s ?

Kenny, Altan plays the first bar of the C part as:
|gagf e^def|
and that d sharp—in tandem with the switch to c sharp too—gives the tune a nice wild edge (and drives backers in our session here absolutely nuts).
