More than likely. I usually just suss out what the most well known bands to play call it (Dubliners, Chieftans, even Sinead O’Connor). Most of their tracks call it Cockles and Mussels, so I just ran with it 🙂

The earliest publication calls it “Cockles and Mussels”, so it possibly has the advantage over popularity (after all, Danny Boy is probably the most used name for the tune from Derry).

Thank you all for transcribing this. These seem correct in rhythm but not in what beats those rhythms fall on. To me it feels like the open D that starts the A part is actually a pickup and beat one lands on the G half note. Thoughts?

Agreed! 1st beats of each bar should fall on DUB CIT MAIDS PRET and so on.
