Arrane y Chlean

This is a cradle song from the Isle of Man. It seems to have become popular with choirs in the USA, under the name Manx Lullaby, and sung to the words below:

Oh hush thee my dove, oh hush thee my rowan,
Oh hush thee my lapwing, my little brown bird.

Oh fold thy wings and seek thy nest now,
Oh shine the berry on the bright tree,
The bird is home from the mountain and valley.
Oh horo hi ri ri Cadul gu lo.

However, it doesn’t seem that these words came from the Island.

Can you remember the name of the Irish version of this tune?

Tommy McCarthy’s mazurka, X:2

Looking for the title of a mazurka that I’ve learned from the box player and dancing master Timmy McCarthy, I found this tune proposed by Tunepal (at 41 % ;-) which seems closely in relation with the tune that I know.

Re: Arrane Y Chlean

Currently, X:2 is given in D Maj. To me, it plays more naturally (pardon the pun) in D Mix…

Arrane Y Chlean, X:3

Heard this version as an untitled soundtrack. It is very very similar to standard versions of the Lullaby but I like the chords a lot more.
