Michael Murphy’s Slide

This a slide I found in Matt Cranitch’s, "The Irish Fiddle Book" to link up a couple of tunes (The Halting March and Dinny Delaney’s). I notice it is the only tune on his album, "Give It Schtick" (where he plays it after Johnny Murphy’s Slide) that doesn’t seem to be on The Session yet.

Dinny Delaney’s: https://thesession.org/tunes/185

Michael Murphy’s Slide

Found in a slightly different form in Ceol Rince na hEireann Vol.2 No.77 ("Gan Ainm" from a Mrs Murphy of County Cork) and in Bulmer & Sharpley Vol.4, No.82 ("Port Singil Gan Ainm" from Seamus Creagh). Another name for it is "The Cullen Slide". Also found as a polka in Johnny O’Leary of Sliabh Luchra (https://thesession.org/tunes/1531).

Dear Nigel ~ 😉 ~ a relative already here ~ chicken & the egg 😀
