Mazurka D’Embrault

This is a French* mazurka. It’s one of my favourite tunes on the album “Musique Artisanale” by Duo Lagrange/Rutkowski, where I transcribed it from. You can listen to them playing it on myspace:

You might call that change from C minor to C major somewhat corny… but then again, it almost always achieves the desired effect. 😀

I’m not quite sure in which key it’s actually meant to be played though. Pipes and accordion… you can never know! After a bit of research, I’ve found versions in G and in A as well.
And, more important, that the composer is Thierry Mirebeau.

I’ve come across this tune played in local sessions (Sussex, UK) under the title ‘Fubu’s Mazurka’. It’s also on this site with that name. Anyone know who Mr/Ms Fubu was?
