“A Memory Of Friends Past” ~ C: c ~ from 6/8 to 3/4
I received a lovely email from one of our members saying he liked my tune, but that he was going to take it forward a little slower than a jig, as a waltz. So, I thought I’d better, just to make it 32 bars instead of the more cumbersome 64 it could potentially become. I’ve given it in two octaves, with some variations thrown in that are more along the lines of taking it in 3/4 time. Here’s the 6/8 version:
"A Memory Of Friends Past" ~ a jig ( why my mind took that as being akin to ‘ajar’? :-/ ? )

For Eamon, on his prompting. Eamon, if after having your own way with this melody you develop something different, please give us a transcription?
X: 2 “A Memory of Friends Past”
For the sake of those who might like a simpler take on this, minus the rhythmic variations and other possibilities explored in X: 1, with the two octaves given again. I hope it helps. ;-)
