Fiddler’s Joy

Technically a strathspey for the Highland pipes, it seems, but Dan R. MacDonald played it as a highland schottische, and it’s always been that way for me. Found in the 1912 Dunoon Highland Gathering Collection of Bagpipe Music, Book 2, and more recently in one of the Ceol na Fidhle books. Also something called "Gatherer’s Musical Museum." Hmm! Wonder who that could be?

Fiddler’s Joy Pt 2

Joe MacLean played this as a jig and I’ll submit his setting tomorrow as a separate tune - the site won’t let you change the time signature of an alternate setting.

Fiddler’s Joy Pt 2

Ah, never mind, figured out that you can override the site wanting a set time signature by just entering it in brackets at the start of the ABC.
