Iniscealtra

A great reel by the late Paddy O’Brien of Newtown, Co. Tipperary. This tune is often played with Ormond Sound and Town Teine - two other great compositions by Paddy.

Is this tune copyrighted?

I learned a slightly different version of this tune, as part of a trhee tune set, at a Banjo workshop in Tubbercurry, Sligo. The teacher (whose name I forget) knew this and the other two tunes in the set only as Paddy O’Brien’s. I now know that one of the other tunes was Ormond Sound, but as I didn’t have a tape recorder with me, I have forgotten the remaining one - it is highly probable that it was Town teine. Carrie - I would be grateful if you could post that one as well.

Anyway, this is the setting I have:
