Scarlet Clog

I first learned this Eb hornpipe from an LP by Canadian fiddler Tommy Doucet, on his LPs it was simply labeled “Tommy’s E Flat Clog” and it was recorded under that name by the Irish group Moving Cloud. Tommy’s long out of print LP may be obtained here: http://greatcanadianfiddle.blogspot.com/2013/08/tom-doucet-down-east-star.html The Scarlet Clog title used here comes from the book of transcriptions of Cape Breton fiddler Winston “Scotty” Fitzgerald, and was derived from some home recording of him. Other CB musicians like Carl MacKenzie have recorded it as well.
