The Plains Of Waterloo

A powerful air from the playing of Finbar Furey. Many Irishmen died on the battlefields of Waterloo.

Dear Irish Boy

This air is nothing like the Dear Irish Boy or Green Fields Of Canada.

It’s the same tune. Take away Finbar’s embellishments, and you have the same air.

Compare Mary Dillon’s "Green Fields of Canada" with June Tabor’s "Plains of Waterloo" above.
Finbar is playing a very much "Finbarred" version of the same song.
