Six comments

Joe Kilmurray’s

Track 1a from the recent recording “Forgotten Gems” by piper Padraig McGovern and Peter Carberry on button accordeon. Traditional music in the very best sense - tight, virtuoso and yet relaxed playing. On first listening Pipes and accordeon seem to end several phrases with slightly different runs “FAD” on pipes and “FED” on accordeon resp. - not sure though yet, what is truely to be heard there. The written ending for all those phrases would probably be “FED”…

D’accord, I thought the same, it must be a close “cousin”… probably a local version, or from a local collection. The liner notes read: “Peter came across these slip jigs on a recording of Joe Kilmurray made by Master Green. The name of the first slip jig is unknown. ”

fourth part

Maybe I got a more recent version of the CD with edits, but there’s a fourth part. It’s similar to the first, but different enough!

I just realized your ABCs have it, but not the sheet music. I think the ] at the end of the line is why… not sure exactly. My version appears to work. Jeremy can delete the second setting though since it’s identical! I tried to delete it…
