Major David Manson
This is the 2nd tune in a set called Hogties Reel on the Green Ginger’s album, Miss Ogilvie’s Fancy.
I got the initial notes from, then tweaked and shifted key to D to match the recording
Another piping travesty…
2 parts of a 4-part tune - never heard anyone in Scotland play it in this key. How about giving credit to the composer ?
4 parts, played on whistle…
Scott Williams plays all 4 parts on whistle, from 2.00mins :
Composed by P.M. Peter R. MacLeod.
Very nice whistle!
Kenny, thanks much for whistle link. Its does seem that other parts are quite worth putting up as well. I’m on my way to Folklife (Seattle) right now, but later. The link I posted as my original note source includes the composer and other info as well. The key change (Ador to Dmix) sounds good so that’s why they did it in D. Since its Amix its works quite well on the Whistle, where as Dmix gets busted by the low C.
Ossian did this also

I finally got around to writing the out to match the examples I posted with it.
