The Black Silk Slip
composed by Terry Winch http://www.terencewinch.com/music.html
Terry plays the D/C# accordion in a unique East Coast Irish-American style. This tune is on the album Hard New York Days by his band Celtic Thunder (no relation to the PBS schlockmeisters.) http://friendsofsliabhluachra.tumblr.com/post/87995252367/three-zany-irish-american-polkas-from-the-mind-of
This tune is a blast to play on any box with a D row—you can play it all on three buttons and never shift your fingers!
Terry writes: I wrote this tune long ago when I was still playing the Butti accordion http://www.tedmcgraw.com/Butti_files/WinchButti2redu.jpg (my first box ever), which had just 3 buttons on the C# row & I thought it would be an interesting challenge to write a tune using only those 6 notes. On the recording, we play it once in C#, then jump to D.
