Four comments

A tune that was played at I session that I attended in Bristol (UK) yesterday evening.

Quite old - it’s in the first edition of Playford (1651).

I’m not a huge fan of Playford tunes - but I quite like this one.

X:2 in A major. I quite like the modulation to the relative dorian mode for the second part, mind you there’s no instance of the sixth scale degree, so it could go either way (B dorian or B minor).

Just got a handle on a fiddle version of "Maiden Lane" along with "the Shepherd And The Shepherdess" both in G settings after watching this Video, thanks for the ABC’s (the Shepherd & Shepherdess is on The Session site as well)
