The Bag Of Halibut
A tune I made in about 1996 or so. When I played regularly at The Irish Heather in Vancouver, it was not uncommon for indigenous residents of the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver to pop in and offer carvings, jewellery or sometimes food. Of all the food offerings, none was more impressive than a black garbage bag containing a 40 pound whole dried halibut. Had it been just a bit smaller it would have made a terrific bódhrán.
