Another polka from the playing of Julia and Billy Clifford (1982) that didn’t seem to be here yet. They play it after The Cuban I’ve posted yesterday.

Peter Laban asked Terry Moylan, who asked Johnny O’Leary’s grandson Bryan if he had another name for it, and Bryan reported that Johnny called it Mikey Buckley’s favourite.

Adding that this tune is #148 in the book "Johnny O’Leary of Sliabh Luachra", called Mikey Buckley’s, and including a sad story about Mike dying at 25 of tuberculosis. It’s slightly different than the Clifford’s take, and the parts are reversed.
Paudie O’Connor plays the book version on Winds and Reeds. Maybe I’ll transcribe that at some point.
