"Kiwi Reel" as played by the late Shetland fiddler Willie Hunter, who also composed it. It’s from his 1995 album ‘Leaving Lerwick Harbour’.
Kiwi Reel
Hallo Nigel,
A thousand thanks or go raibh mile maith agat for this posting!
That is just what I needed - and the midi - really made my day!
All I now have to do is get my 75-year-old fingers tuned up to playing it.
Fortunately I know a kind lady-music-teacher here in Greven (Russian!)
who helps me a bit with the fingering!
Kind regards
James D

It’s a real pleasure, James. I see John Carmichael quite a bit - you might have come across him in the past. He’s an accordionist and band leader and he has played with many others, including Jimmy Shand. I’m also a great admirer of Willie Hunter, so I had transcribed the great tune "Kiwi Reel" back in the 1990s - excellent stuff!
