An Irishman In Brittany
Transcribed from Moving Hearts’ Live In Dublin CD/DVD this is the first half of the reel called Titanic that Davy Spillane plays on his Low D whistle. It has a syncopated feel to it with the A section starting just behind the beat. Note that the A crotchet in the second bar is played an octave higher during the second round of the A section, I think by swiftly overblowing the written note. Davy manages that through skill and a whistle with negligible backpressure. I love the energy of this piece and the "duelling" that goes on with Keith Donald on saxophone.
Isn’t this tune in Edorian wirh a c# , not Cnat??
Sorry, I think you’re right. Thanks for the correction.
