L’Air Mignonne

This is a tune composed by Simon Riopel from Montreal. He plays it in alternate tuning as AEAE.

Here’s a youtube of Simon playing it:

I learned this tune from Yan Falquet in June, 2014 while he was visiting at a fiddle camp in California. He played it on his concertina, and it has a really nice French air feel to it.

L’Air Mignonne

I forgot to add that the title means "cute, little tune." And it is that.

Re: L’Air Mignonne

Just edited the abc’s for this tune. It was my first learn-by-ear tune and then I transcribed it to abc format. Just came back to it, and realized it needed some help. Nice to know I have made a wee bit of progress since my first endeavors.

Fancy title ?

The French word for "tune" is masculine so it should be "l’air mignon" !
I don’t know Quebec idioms but from France this title really sounds like a wordplay between "the cute tune" and "(the girl who) looks cute" ;-)
