Gyn Ennym!

A favourite Manx tune commonly played in sessions around the island.

Gyn Ennym Connections

The first part of this jig is very like the first part of St Patrick’s Day (the second part being completely different to this one: https://thesession.org/tunes/385). It’s also very like both parts of the Welsh jig Glandyfi, but that’s more of a single jig with a crotchet/quaver pattern (https://thesession.org/tunes/14512).

One of the ways I sometimes play Gyn Ennym, which is fairly reminiscent of the Barrule setting
