The Titanic

As played by Vincent Campbell, who attributes it to John Doherty:

It has quite a few similarities to what is posted here as The Highland Reel (; I’ve posted it as a separate tune because of the different key (although there are no C#s in this basic setting, Mr. Campbell does play some C#s and G#s as part of variations, for example when he plays the penultimate bar like |gffe fdec|) and because of the last line which sets it somewhat apart IMO. But that’s probably a matter of argument.

Both may well be related to The Devil In The Kitchen ( anyway.

Re: The Titanic

This is definitely a reel setting of “The Devil in the Kitchen”, albeit a very powerful one. Vincent Campbell plays this very well on his “The Purple Heather” album as well as several other YouTube videos.
