Corrido De Encina

Taken from At First Light’s album “Tripswitch”.
According to the album, this tune is not a jig but a Castilian tune (in 5/8).
Great melodie. 🙂

Here’s the Spanish original

Here’s the original, for Spanish shawm (dulzaina), found in the dulzaina forum “ecosdedulzaina.com”. It is of course neither jig nor reel, but a Castilian corrido. It is in G minor, changing to G major in the last part.
You can listen to it on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2UDKtB4V94

You can even watch the dance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml5Oj2qaaqA&t=35s

This is the version of the shawm forum. From what I heard on YouTube, the bar before last should be left out so that we get a last part of 16 bars.
Now we are definitely out of Ireland AND the world of Celtic music, but it is a very interesting tune indeed.
