Angeline The Baker

American old-timey tune (from Texas).

Angeline The Baker, X:2

As played at the Golden Guinea pub session, Bristol (UK).

Although the standard key for this tune is DMaj, for some reason it’s normally played in GMaj in this session.

My friend does a nice, slow rendition of that on clawhammer banjo, and I accompany on fiddle. We then switch to the bluegrassy version posted by Mix, which is much better known these days. That set is lots of fun for the players and the listeners.
