Entirely unrelated to tune(s) of the same or similar name already posted to session.org.
This one is tune that’s played at the Golden Guinea pub session, Bristol (UK). A member of this session learned it from someone at the Radway Inn session during the Sidmouth Folk Festival (UK) some years ago.
I’ve transcribed it as 2/4, as that metre seemed to fit it best, but it isn’t a polka. It’s almost a slow air - but it’s not quite that either.
Oddly, I didn’t much care for it when I first heard it. However, it’s grown on me and I really like it now. It’s got a sort of wistful, haunting feel about it. Hard to explain …
The Skylark, X:2
As per X:1, but with my suggested chord setting added.
Thanks for the chords!
