The Road To Savona has been added to 11 tunebooks.
Composer: Gian Marco Pietrasanta ( Please don’t shoot me! )
are you sure about the octaves you have written down in the abc of your tune - IMHO in the second part the tune sounds nicer with some of the octaves reversed….
I guess the tune title comes from waiting in a traffic jam on the autostrada to savona?
indeed sometimes i play the first two triplets of the 2nd and 6th bar of the second part in the high octave.
I live in Genova, and the rest of the Band is from Savona.
I go weekly to practise with the Band, by car or by train.
I don’t remember when i wrote this tune, but probably you are not far from the truth.
or vice versa you change all those d/e to D/E in the second part and adapt bar 3 and 7. Like that you get a one octave tune, well fitting the simple kind of bagpipes. BTW what are the pipes you ‘re playing?
Thanks for your suggestions.
My main intrument is the flute, I play a little a small pipe, a sort of lowland pipe and a maediaval pipe in G. I play soprano sax too.
Of course, I have a drawer full of whistles.
