I wrote this song two years ago on mandolin but often play it on fiddle, too. It is the third tune in the Lynn Valley set, named after Lynn Valley in North Vancouver. It is a common set we play in the Black Bear Rebels. The other two tunes in the set are Cycling in the Rain and Pissing on the Compost (posted separately).
(FWIW Basel is Don Harder and Laurie Townsend’s cat. Don was a big influence on these tunes - they largely stemmed from a warm and whisky soaked evening jamming in my back yard, which helps explain the title of the second tune.)
