Re: Miracle At Glencoe Mills

good transcription of a rocking tune, but I noticed the key is listed as B minor, which isn’t the case.
The tune is in either A dorian or A mix, I’m not sure which, but basically A minor for all intents and purposes! 🙂

Re: Miracle At Glencoe Mills

Probably because of the 2 sharp key sig, which suggests either D maj or B min, but doesn’t cope with modes! Endless discussion elsewhere about how to key sig these tunes in A which have “natural Gs”: and in this particular tune although there is a C# in the key sig, there are none in the tune!
So, yes, A mixolydian.

This setting is as played by Rachel Davis (and Colin Grant and Chrissy Crowley) on her 2013 album “Turns”.
She credits the tune to Maybelle Chisholm, influential Cape Breton piano accompanist.
