The Blackbird

Yet another hornpipe going by this name! Hope I haven’t overlooked an existing entry… anyway, I got this one from the playing of Padraig McGovern and Peter Carberry:

This tune shares quite a few bits with this Blackbird https://thesession.org/tunes/4101 — in fact, I first mistook it to be this one because of the catchy opening phrase — but then again it is even more similar to the *reel* of that name (as recorded by The Bothy Band, c.f. http://www.tunearch.org/wiki/Blackbird_%287%29). And it features a nice 3rd part.
