The Trip To Norway

This tune came to me quite suddenly as I was walking home from visiting Alfie Nicholson, an old sailor from the island of Shapinsay, Orkney. He had been telling me about his recent holiday in Norway; he was especially enthusiastic about the ships he had seen. The tune reminded me of some Scandinavian waltzes, but I’ve never been sure whether I composed it or just half-remembered something. Maybe someone can tell me.

The third line is supposed to be harmonised on the repeat, but I don’t know how to do that yet in ABC: basically a simple 2 notes below for most of the section.
