McFarlan’s Delight

This nice jig is in Aird’s Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs, vol. 5, Glasgow, 1801, p. 14, no. 36. According to tunearch.org, it also appears (under the title “McFarlane’s Delight” ?) in O’Neill’s "400 tunes arranged for piano and violin", 1915.

Re: McFarlan’s Delight

This is a very nice jig. It is from John Clark’s "A Collection of New Strathspey Reels and Country Dances …
Dedicated to the Musical Society of Perth" pub. Edinburgh 1795. Tunes apparently Mr. Clark’s compositions.
This info is from "A Fiddler’s Book of Scottish Jigs" ed. Charles Gore. "From 18th & 19th C Printed Collections".
The book’s fun for anyone who likes jigs.
