Peerie Willie
This reel, in Bb of course, was composed by Wille Hunter and is nothing to do with the reel "Pirrie Wirrie" on site already (https://thesession.org/tunes/3911).
This transcription is from North by Blazin’ Fiddles.

Re: Peerie Willie
Tune must be for Peerie Willie Johnson the wonderful guitarist from Shetland? He learnt lots from listening
to American radio stations. The recording "Willie’s World" is partly folk and partly jazzy, featuring Willie
and plenty of other artists. He didn’t record on his own so it’s a showpiece for him (he died in 2007). Some
of the 4os and 50s style pieces are very witty but a lot of it is traditional. Some people say recording quality
is poor but never mind! The Wrigley Sisters in Kirkwall, Orkney have named one of their music teaching
rooms after Peerie Willie Johnson.
Re: Peerie Willie
Yes, he pretty much started a guitar style single-handedly that’s still popular in Shetland and beyond today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHRfff93zok
