Connolly’s

This great jig appears in P.W. Joyce’s Old Irish Music and Songs (1909), vol. 1, p. 116-117, No. 240.
Joyce wrote that he copied it from two very old well-written manuscripts lent to him in 1873 by Mr J. O’Sullivan, of Bruff, Co. Limerick.

It can also be found with the title ‘Touch it up tight’ – no 401 in the Goodman collection (Tunes of the Munster pipers: Irish traditional music from the James Goodman manuscripts [Vol. 1], ed. Hugh Shields, Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA), Dublin, 1988).
