The Amazon

Probably American, sourced from Cole’s 1001 Fiddle Tunes collection and Ryan’s Mammoth Collection (1883), which notes "Can be used as a Clog." Trimble does a nice version on his Heartland Messenger album, with harmony lines and moving chords. Distinctive leap in the first bar of A and nice triplets in the B part, works well on plectrums like banjo.

The Amazon, X:2

Listed as "The Spring Garden" in O’Neill’s 1001, with a slightly different first phrase.
