I hope I’ve notated this right - this is my first attempt at using ABC for anything.

I notated this tune years ago, in the back of a book of tunes I have, hopefully it’s close enough. The source was a cassette recording from Attic records of Orkney (Rousay is one of the Orkney Islands). The title of the cassette is "Northern Lights of Yesteryear", and it contains mostly archive recordings of tunes & songs. I’ll have a dig to see if the tape turns up, as then I’ll be able to include a note of the fiddler who originally recorded it.

No doubt it resembles something that’s already on here, I’d be interested to know what.

Re: Rousay

Seems to be a reel version of Jackie Tar… just in a different key and with the parts reversed. I just looked it up here on thesession, and there seems to be some disagreement regarding the name already though… :~P

Re: Rousay

I can see the resemblance there 🙂

Just noticed I can note it as being in A dorian, which is probably more accurate.
