Up The Pond

This is a tune common to Newfoundland. It is played at the annual St. John’s regatta in St. John’s every summer and has been recorded by local musicians. Perhaps usually played in D major, here it is dropped 7 semi-tones down to G major.

Yes, this tune is a.k.a. The Banks of Newfoundland but because there are a half dozen other such named tunes I didn’t want to get into that kettle of fish. It’s Up the Pond, ok.
