John Howat’s

Good for step-dancing: but couldn’t find this in the Session tunes index.
- 19th century tune/strathspey attributed to Hugh Dunlop by Kerr.
Chords and notation from the Strathspey and Reel Society of New Hampshire #10.3

Re: John Howat’s

It feels more like a hornpipe to me, though it plays well as a strathspey or a rant, too.

Re: John Howat’s

This is the second tune in a set on the Greenfield Dance Band’s CD "High Clouds" paired in a set with
Bonnie Isabel Robertson
An excellent CD filled with good tunes played well

John Howat’s, X:2

I transcribed this setting from the playing of Joseph Cormier.

Re: John Howat’s

I’ve known it as a reel. First heard it at Ashokan Northern Week and it knocked my socks off.
