December Evening

A waltz I wrote as a wedding present for my wife, Kelly. Members of my band were playing for our wedding, and I had taught them the tune, but they were struggling to play it without me. So one of them suggested that I record it and play it on my iPad during the wedding so they could play along. So that’s what we did! I introduced it in a video on the iPad, and then the band played along. Kelly had no idea it was coming, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house…

I recorded this on my album, Giotár, along with Mick Broderick’s waltz, North Sea Crossing. Marla Fibish plays mandolin and mandola on the track, and it is the crown jewel of the album 🙂
