Con Cassydy’s (jig)

A lovely Doneagl Jig.

Er…

That would be Donegal, no?

Or D

Er…

that would be Gonedal. ;-))

Con cassidy’s

Pardon me, I’m not great at reading music - what’s that squiggly thing between the 8th notes - in the 5th measure of the B part?

It’s a quaver rest.

It’s a breath…of the late Frankie.

Truly a most fitting tribute to have a breath of Frankie immortalized here.

“Con Cassidy’s Jig” - who I originally learned it from…

No doubt it has gone through some changes over time. I also play it in D…

Compare the D Major A-parts, "Con Cassidy’s Jig" clearly an influence…

Con Cassidy’s, X:5

From Turlach Boylan’s nice album "The Tidy Cottage". This came up in a session recently and several of us knew it but we couldn’t remember what it was called.

Re: Con Cassidy’s

Fiddlers: how do you manage those string crossings from E string to D string at the start of the B-part? Very difficult to play them cleanly at speed without sounding the A string. Which part of the bow do you use?
