This tune is possibly better known as "The Legacy" (found in Ryan’s Mammoth Collection, Hamilton’s Universal Tunebook, Kerr’s Merry Melodies, etc). Captain Fraser’s name for the tune was "How Can We Abstain From Whisky" (note the spelling of whisky, javivr!), and he claims it was composed by John McMurdo of Kintail. Its closeness to "St Patrick’s Day in the Morning" is noteworthy.
The tune can be seen here in the database as "The Old Legacy" (https://thesession.org/tunes/3503), probably to distinguish it from the other jig called "The Legacy".
