"The Lodge Road" ~ Set Dance

This is a quirky version of this, likely something I’d originally picked up in the North/Ulster ~ Fermanagh / Tyrone / Armagh / Derry / Donegal / Derry / Antrim? I’m giving it as I’ve played it, with swing and snaps. I’ve also seen it notated in 2/4 and straight. I’ll give some historic notations later so comparisons can be made, and to offer options to those who might like to play this straight. I think it reads better in 4/4 than 2/4, so will likely make those transcriptions in 4/4 and only mention if the original source was 2/4. I was surprised this wasn’t already on site, but if it is, please let me know and I’ll move these transcriptions to any earlier submission.

X: 5 "The Lodge Road" ~ Set Dance

This is a transcription of the playing of this set dance by fiddler Eugene O’Donnell, who wandered a bit when it came to playing the two parts ~ AAABABA. From that, with adjustments, this transcription has been added here in the usual form of AABB…
