McSweeney’s Lament

From the playing of Francie and Mickey Dearg Byrne of Kilcar, Donegal.
Turlough McSweeney (1831-1916), ‘An Piobaire Mor’ of Doagh Castle, Donegal, was a relation of the Dohertys. He was reputedly the ‘King’ in the jigs ‘King of the Pipers/Pipes’.
A version can be heard on the CD The McDonaghs of Ballinafad under the name ‘A Harper’s Tune’
