The Old Brown Slipper

Another obscurity from the pages of "Treoir". I quite like its’ simplicity.
Originally transcribed by Seamus MacMathuna, and described as "as played by Tadhg O’Laochda of Lios Tuathail".

Nice one, Kenny. Here’s another setting from accordionist Tim Leahy of Listowel, Co Kerry, collected by Breandan Breathnach in 1968 and published in his Ceol Rince na h’Eireann Vol.2 (1976).

Re: The Old Brown Slipper

I wonder…… "Tadhg O’Laochda" = "Tim Leahy" ?

Re: The Old Brown Slipper

I was thinking the same thing myself… 🙂 And of course Lios Tuathail = Listowel.
