The Little House Under The Hill

From the CD liner notes on ‘Turas Ceoil’ this is ‘trad arr. M.Ó Murchú’, and then: “The version of the … tune appears very old, both parts appearing variations. O’Neill (1913) finds the tune in ‘O’Farrell’s Pocket Companion for the Union Pipes’ (c. 1810)’ and a version appears as ‘The Poor Soldier’ in ‘The Hibernian Muse’ (1787). There are at least ten variations.”
However, I can’t really hear two parts here at all, it just sounds like the same 8 bars repeated another five times with very minor variations: 8x6=48 bars. Of course Marcas Ó Murchú still makes it sound great. Apologies for any errors or excessive dumbing downs/approximations etc in this transcript
