Dawn Rising

Here’s how it’s played by The Irish Tradition on their album Catchin’ the Tune.

They call it Dawn Rising but though it’s a very different setting I’m sure this is the same tune.

The Master’s Return, X:4

This version comes from Ceolas (book one) where it is given as The Rising Sun. The tune seems quite like the hornpipe The Last Pint (https://thesession.org/tunes/223).

Re: The Master’s Return

Heard my version in 1978 on an Irish Folk festival (No 5) here in Germany played by Liam O Flynn on pipes …

Re: The Master’s Return

Kuddel, I learned approxiametely your version from Johannes Schieffner in Proitze 🙂

The Master’s Return, X:5

I added X:5 after listening to the video in the the discussion:

James Cullinan seems to have his fiddle tuned up a semitone or the video’s been doctored. I suspect the former.
