Billy Mahony’s

This is a lovely polka from the playing of Timmy O’Connor, an older boxplayer from Toureendarby, Newmarket, North Cork. Timmy recently had a CD put out, and I believe this is it, but I was fortunate enough to learn it off him in person on a Monday night at Scully’s in Newmarket. If anyone gets the chance to be anywhere close to North Cork on a Monday night, there’s great music to be had in Scully’s. Timmy plays much more to Tom Billy’s style than Patrick O’Keeffe’s, but is Sliabh Luachra through and through. I like to play it after the Glin Cottage Polkas ( and ).

I figured it had to be here somewhere!
