Also known as The Banks Of Helicon.

On The Banks Of Helicon has been added to 2 tunebooks.
A very old Scottish tune. Said to be written by Andro Blackhall (1536 - 1609) but may be older. The poem by
Montgomerie "Adeu, O desie of delyt" was set to this tune and can be found on the CD "Mary’s Music" by the
Scottish Early Music Consort. I bought this in the 80’s on an LP, found it great.
The tune appears on "Banks of Helicon" CD by the Baltimore Consort which is on The Session Recordings and
is rather controversial! A lovely old tune from that CD, "Kathren Oggie" can also be found on TheSession.
Neither this nor "Banks of Helicon" look too much like reels but they are good tunes so - worth finding here I
