Peter Feeney’s Dream
This is a lovely reel that Boston boxplayer Joe Derrane composed. It’s named after an American piano player, Peter Feeney, also known as Johnny Connors, who would occasionally switch between the two names depending on who was looking for him. Connors/Feeney was stuck in the Irish Catskills at one point for the summer, backing legends like Bobby Gardiner, Andy McGann, and Paddy Cronin, and Joe seems to have written it as a tribute to him.
De Dannan recorded it as "Joe Derrane’s Reel". You can hear Joe play it below.
