Danny’s Delight

This is a very nice little tune composed by Durham (NE England) musician Jim O’Boyle who plays English concertina in the main, and also uillean pipes and whistle. Jim is a very longstanding sessioner who with others started a session in Durham back in the early or mid 1970s in The Colpitts Hotel.

He and fiddler Chuck Fleming have just produced an album called "Strings And Reeds" which one day might appear as an entry in the Recordings section here. This jig is on it, and the relevant note reads: "Jim wrote Danny’s Delight in 2016 for his then three-year-old grandson who still remains a delight".
