To be honest, I’m not exactly sure why I like this tune so much. It’s very repetitive, but perhaps it’s just the slightly unusual key. Either way, I like it. According to the Traditional Tune Archive, it appears in Ryan’s Mammoth Collection, P. 96. Composer apparently unknown. It was supposedly originally a contra jig, though now it is played sometimes in Cape Breton. I transcribed this from Cape Breton fiddler Wendy MacIsaac’s album "Off the Floor", where she plays it to accompany a square dance.
