Also known as Eamon Flynn’s.
A Trip To Rockchapel has been added to 1 tunebook.
This jig comes from boxplayer and fiddler Eamon Flynn of Mountcollins, Co. Limerick. Eamon played with the likes of Paddy Cronin, Brendan Tonra, Larry Reynolds, and Tommy Sheridan while in Boston before moving to Vermont, USA to influence another generation of musicians.
Lockdown has its advantages, ie. never had so much free time to look up new tunes. This one is crackingly good -are there any other compositions out there by Mr Flynn, and if this tune is played in anyone’s session anywhere, what gets played with it?
There are a number of Eamon Flynn’s tunes posted here, I seem to remember, but I’d need to go looking for them. Unfortunately, not that many have been recorded, so are not that well known. I’ll see what I can come up with.
OK - to cut things short, if you type “Eamon Flynn” in the “Tunes” field, there are apparently 20 tunes posted here linked to his name. That should keep you busy for a while.
